Ultimate went well Sunday. The weather was unpredictable. The whole day leading up to 3 p.m. we were getting light rain, heavy rain, and not-quite-golf-ball-sized hail. The sun came out then the sky clouded over again. I couldn’t tell what was going on. I even started mowing at one point and had to stop after one section of the yard was done ’cause it started raining again.
Lucas walked over to the house around 2 p.m. and I drove us over to Springfield. We hit all kinds of rain on the way. All the way over, the sky looked really dark ahead of us. When we actually got into Springfield itself, the sky cleared and it was only sprinkling a bit. We pulled into the lot and waited for the others to arrive. The rain picked back up around 3 p.m., but then died down.
As everyone started filtering in, the sun came out and we had a perfect day of Ultimate. Rock. We had 9 people and played for a little over 2 hours. That’s about it for the UIS guys, though. They’ll be having finals and heading home next week.
